As Sebastian completed the final illustrations of his original necktie, things drew closer to becoming a reality. Still, there were manufacturing hurdles to overcome. To ensure the widths were just right, yet not mimicking the neckties already sold across the retail industry, many hours were spent at home cutting fabrics into different dimensions, lengths, and contours. He subsequently worked with a seamstress to make a prototype sample, refining the new tie into its final silhouette form. The next step was finding a manufacturer. With his prototype sample in hand, Sebastian was turned down repeatedly. None of the manufacturers wanted to bother making such an unconventional necktie with such polarizing dimensions. The readjustments for cutting, pressing, and custom interlining process was too difficult for these manufacturers to produce in bulk. After countless back & forth phone calls, emails, and video conferences, It wasn’t until the very last manufacturer Sebastian asked to get the sample remade, was when he was able to find a willing factory manager. The hand crafting process was approved and the factory proceeded with the quality control for bulk production. At last, Liam Jake was born, with a unique silhouette, a signature silk black stripe integrated into each tie, and many endearing patterns to choose from.
